Black Friday 2026 and Early Booking: the bookings that could build your 2027
When we think of Black Friday, we think volume.
More promotions. More traffic. More bookings.
But in travel, there’s another question that matters just as much:
When will those people actually travel?
A booking made on Black Friday might turn into a hotel stay, a flight, a car rental, a theme park ticket or an experience that happens weeks or even months later.
That’s why Black Friday can be more than a sales spike.
It can also be one of the first big opportunities to capture next year’s demand.
Black Friday is a booking date, not a travel date
If we only look at bookings and revenue during Black Friday and Cyber Monday week, we’re only seeing part of the picture.
In travel, we also want to know:
- when the trip or experience will take place
- how many days pass between booking and travel
- what share of bookings is for next year
- which markets book furthest ahead
These variables tell us not just how much we’ve sold, but how much future demand we’re bringing forward.
What did Black Friday 2025 tell us?
During Black Friday/Cyber Monday week 2025, bookings managed by Affilired grew 19% compared with 2024, while gross booking value rose 20%.
If this trend is confirmed in the data, Black Friday is no longer just an opportunity to drive sales in November.
The Early Booking connection
Black Friday and Early Booking aren’t the same thing.
Black Friday is tied to a promotion and a period of high purchase intent. Early Booking usually rewards travellers for booking further ahead.
But they share something important: both can bring the traveller’s buying decision forward.
A well-crafted offer can give someone who’s already thinking about their next trip a reason to book now, instead of waiting until January or February.
That doesn’t mean cannibalising Early Booking. Done right, Black Friday lets you reach travellers while they’re still comparing options, before the decision is made on another channel.
And that’s where Black Friday becomes especially valuable for travel.
Travel dates matter as much as the offer
The question shouldn’t just be: how much do we want to sell on Black Friday?
But also: what dates do we want those bookings for?
Depending on your business goals, the campaign can help you:
- start building demand for Q1
- boost low-demand periods
- bring Easter bookings forward
- lay the groundwork for next summer
There’s no need to chase all of these at once. But it’s worth knowing which part of the calendar you want November’s bookings to help build.
Measuring Black Friday beyond the spike
This year, we’ll be paying particular attention to:
- Booking window: how far ahead are people booking?
- Travel dates: which months will trips and experiences take place?
- Future bookings: what share is for next year?
- Source markets: which markets book furthest ahead
- Publisher contribution: which partners are helping capture that demand?
Because Black Friday 2026 won’t just tell us how November performed. It may also give us the first signals of how 2027 demand is starting to take shape.
And this is precisely when OTAs invest most heavily in visibility. For a travel company, capturing that early demand through its direct channel can make a real difference to profitability. At Affilired, we invest in the campaigns we manage, so our clients only pay for confirmed sales.
